  • Oversee online editorial direction for Seattle's premier lifestyle publication.
  • Develop story ideas and long-term strategic coverage for the print and online publications.
  • Write and edit day-to-day late-breaking arts, culture, dining, shopping and travel news.
  • Coordinate edit, art and photos for the magazine's online issues, including special sections.
  • Conceive and execute new digital and online initiatives including the 2008 redesign of Seattlemag.com, a re-launch that dramatically increased traffic through expanded editorial coverage, new searchable directories and updated special sections.
  • Direct Seattle magazine's social media platform and strategy, responsible for establishing the magazine's editorial presence on Twitter, Facebook, Foursquare and other applications.
  • Coordinate the magazine's media partnerships with other publications and lifestyle sites.
  • Regularly contribute trend, technology, media and dining stories to the print publication.

  • Covered night breaking news and posted three to four briefs daily to Seattletimes.com.
  • Produced news and enterprise stories on city life and crime for the print edition.


City government and education reporter, March 2007 – March 2008

  • Established a new coverage area in Southeast King County.
  • Covered suburban cities, schools and the state’s largest hospital district. Collaborated closely with design and photo to develop cover stories.

Summer reporting intern, The Oregonian

  • Covered breaking news, cops, courts and wrote feature and enterprise stories for the metro team.
  • Analyzed state data to find trends in gambling treatment that showed women are at an increased risk of gambling addiction.

  • Daily coverage of breaking news; enterprise stories ranged from cell-phone use to teen gambling and drug policies.
